Obstacle Avoiding Robot
Robots have always fascinated me and are one of the major influences that led me to pursue an engineering career. This robot was called the Big Bang since it was my very first robot; building from scratch. I made it using:
BASIC Stamp v2.0
IR sensors
Stepper Motors
Power Supply Box
BASIC Stamp is a microcontroller with a small, specialized BASIC interpreter (PBASIC) built into ROM. It is made by Parallax, Inc. and has been quite popular with electronics hobbyists since the early 1990s due to its low threshold of learning and ease of use (due to its simple BASIC language).
The Power Supply Box was not for power but there was a non-working power supply lying around in the lab at the time. So, I decided to take the circuitry out and make modifications to the box as per the design in my head. The box would serve as my robot enclosure. If I find the program for the robot, I’ll be sure to post it here. So far, no luck!
